How to Create Resilience
Mimetic Networks & Ecosystems of Ideas Human emotions is the most powerful force on earth. Like Jason Silva said in that video, the forces of mind have trumped the forces of geology. Consciousness - you reading this - is a force of nature. Human societies are really networks of emotions, emotions as replicators. Emotions are like the proteins of ideas, they create functional output. Again, to paraphrase Jason Silva, reason leads to conclusion but emotion leads to action. Emotions express themselves outside the nervous system, they instantiate themselves out into the physical world. What this means is that every time you do anything, any time you go shopping, any time you vote or partake in some social ritual, you´re actively transforming the physical space. So the idea of prosumption, is not only true in the sphere of ideas, but also at a geological scale. The emotions you act out and the choices you make matter, they reach out beyond your consciousness and change the world, they literarily affect matter itself. The next-gen cultural network that I´m creating, what I call THE RESILIENCE NETWORK, embraces this notions of social networks as forces of geology, and human emotions as the apex force of evolution. In other words, when you look at a map of the internet, you´re really staring at an ongoing evolution of the most powerful force on earth. Ideas, information, emotions. These clusters that you see are like conscious spaces of their own. They inherit a form of agency. They´re alive. If you look at that same pattern but with financial transactions instead of digital signals, the same fractal pattern emerges. The image below is really a snapshot of Humans as a force of nature. Interconnected cultural ecosystems. Like a petri dish. And each swarm, each cluster in the global network, is a force in itself. These swarms consist of hyper-connected intent, heterarchical trophic webs of emotions ecosystems of culture. From node to swarm, these emergent patterns are alive. So every time you consume, or partake in the cultural space, you are actively changing the physical space. The external emotions in the cultural space that you choose to be mediated by, the interface between your mirror system and society, express themselves beyond your own reach, they multiply, replicate, and whoever controls the emotions of a swarm controls the functional output of that swarm. These patterns are all about the boundaries between mimetic networks, emotions as replicators, mind as a force of geology. Whose emotions are you acting out ? Your own, someone you chose to follow, or someone who you did not choose ? The idea that I want to replicate to you is that p2p-dividend protocols should be designed so that each cultural cluster feeds back on it´s own emotional intent. Each swarm - what we used to call nation - supports its own cultural resilience. Every capitalist dot you see on that image above supports a swarm of consumers, and the emotions and culture that they share. The shareholders of that decentralised autonomous corporation - of that force of nature - should be given basic income so that they can be emotionally sovereign. Include everyone´s emotions in the ruling class. There are no real reasons to maintain a working class, and everyone knows it. That said, there´s still a lot of work to do, and hopefully I´ve inspired some of you to create #DApps for the emerging basicincome-as-a-service ecosystem. I´ll keep creating, and love every day of it as the resilience network unfolds. /@bipedaljoe |
